A superb charity fundraising consultant

Sarah is a superb charity fundraising consultant and brought a tremendous benefit to our team. The depth of Sarah’s experience was invaluable in helping us to craft and deliver our fundraising strategy at a time of uncertainty and transition for the charity. Sarah works in a way that is intuitive and empathetic, which distinguishes her as a highly skilled and highly personable communicator. Sarah is also generous with her insight and support. I highly recommend Sarah not only as a freelance fundraiser but also as a coach for anyone looking to improve their knowledge or gain confidence in fundraising. Sarah’s most notable achievement during our time together was her work in securing a major 5-year award from the National Lottery Communities Fund. This is just one of numerous positives that ensured that Sarah’s resonance will be felt by the charity long after the duration of her contract.” Mark Jefferies, Partnerships Manager, Meningitis Now.

I would thoroughly recommend her as a fundraising professional.” Liz Waldy, Head of Fundraising, Tearfund.

A wealth of experience and strategic insights

“We recently asked Sarah to carry out an audit of our trust fundraising and to seek her professional advice about how we could make some improvements to this area of our work. We found Sarah to be an excellent resource, combining her wealth of experience, her strategic insights and her warm and engaging manner. Inviting a consultant in and exposing organisational weaknesses can be a rather daunting exercise but we found that Sarah brought empathy and understanding which made it far easier to go through the process. At the end of three days’ work, Sarah delivered a comprehensive report which covered a range of issues from the strategic to the operational and raised some key areas where change was needed. We hope to be able to further engage Sarah as we work through her recommendations and just wanted to say a huge thank you.” Mary Oakes, Director of Development, Innovista.

Expertise across the fundraising spectrum

“Sarah’s expertise across the fundraising spectrum has been so helpful to help us think about what opportunities exist, how to professionalise our fundraising and how to portray our work differently for donors. Thanks so much, Sarah.” Sonya Ruparel, CEO, Women in Prison.

Fantastic and well worth the investment

“Sarah has brought us energy and creativity to our fundraising strategy. Sarah has helped us to look at our relationships with funders from a different perspective, maximising on other opportunities we were not aware of. Thank you, Sarah, for all your ongoing support and personalised service. Working with you has been fantastic and was well worth the investment.” Suzannah Cook, CEO, Care Home Volunteers.

An invaluable source of support, strategic advice and professional expertise

Sarah has been an invaluable source of support, strategic advice and professional expertise to me in my role as Head of Communications at the halow project. She was involved with the charity as a fundraising consultant for 3 years before I joined, meaning I inherited – among other things – an extremely thorough trusts and grants pipeline and a comprehensive set of trust fundraising research and records, thanks to her proactivity and diligence. Sarah has now joined halow’s board as a fundraising trustee and having her third sector and fundraising industry knowledge at board level makes a huge difference to the level of understanding of our team’s and requirements for resources work across the charity. Sarah’s measured and steady approach makes a significant contribution to our planning and delivery of fundraising activities and their assessment afterwards. She is always a pleasure to deal with and I would not hesitate to work with her again in any capacity or to recommend her for any role requiring a senior strategic approach to fundraising. Rachelle Barnett, Head of Fundraising and Communications, the Halow Project.

Fantastic at strategic and hands-on fundraising work

If you are looking for a Charity Consultant or Freelance Fundraiser, I can wholeheartedly recommend getting in touch with Sarah. I have worked alongside her on a few occasions, and she is fantastic at both strategic work (eg if you want a fundraising audit completed and a new strategy written) and hands-on fundraising work – including bid writing. I know she’s had huge success with grant fundraising and having seen her applications, I can see why! She has a great eye for detail yet also an ability to capture and convey the stories and emotion behind a great cause. Sarah is also such a lovely person to work with – warm and highly personable, kind and thoughtful and passionate about the work she does. Caroline Dewfall, Fundraising Consultant and Coach.

It feels like Sarah is part of the team

“Sarah has supported us in so many ways including writing a case for support, creating a detailed list of grant applications, reviewing our current fundraising and giving input into our new website. Sarah has been extremely flexible with her time and fits the work around our schedules. She is also a lovely, kind person who is passionate about the work she does, is extremely encouraging and is genuinely interested in the work we do at Oasis Belgium. It feels like she is a part of the team.“  Emma Gooding, Director, Oasis Belgium.

Clear communication, insight and a strong dose of reality

“We started working with Sarah in 2020 to get her help to develop a focused fundraising strategy for the organisation. Through clear communication, insight, experience and a strong dose of reality, we now have a robust fundraising plan in place. We look forward to continuing to work with Sarah over the coming year.” Jonathan Morton, CEO of the Royal Cornwall Museum.

Successfully secured £480,000 of Lottery funding

“Meningitis Now asked Sarah to do a three-day audit of the charity’s trust fundraising. We were so impressed that we asked her to manage our Trust Fundraising on an interim basis.  One year on Sarah remains a highly valued member of the team. Her expertise and diligence have combined to achieve great results. She’s successfully secured several major grants including £480,000 of Lottery funding and will leave a legacy of improved trust fundraising processes and capabilities. She has built strong relationships with our existing trust supporters and has helped us identify new funding opportunities. Sarah is a pleasure to work with and I thoroughly recommend her.” Beth Bottrill, Director of Development, Meningitis Now.
